SERVICE ABOVE SELF
What are the benefits of joining a Rotary International club?
Becoming a Rotary member connects you with a group of professionals who share your drive to give back. Through regular meetings and events, you will:
Discuss our community’s needs and develop creative ways to meet them
Connect with other leaders
Expand your leadership and professional skills
Catch up with good friends and meet new ones
For more benefits, just ask a Rotarian, we love to share why we love our club!
What is expected of members?
As a club member, you will be asked to:
Pay club dues - Dues are invoiced quarterly. Membership in Port Huron Rotary is $198.50 per quarter ($794 annually). This includes $50 in quarterly dues and $148.50 for weekly meals. Organizations may choose whether the company or the individual employee covers these costs.
Attend meetings and events - Port Huron Rotary meets weekly from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursdays at the Blue Water Convention Center. We are a busy group of professionals with demanding schedules. We encourage membership, but we certainly do not expect, nor do we penalize members who miss meetings. We have opportunities for participation with committees (parade, foundation, community service/events, etc.) that convene at times outside of our regular meetings. So there are many ways to participate and still make the most of your membership.
If you know you will not be able to attend regularly and want your business or
organization represented, that is fine. We welcome a designee who you would select for the membership of your business. Please reach out to a Rotarian to discuss options.
We have a lot of flexibility for attendance and membership.
Use your professional skills to make a difference
What does Port Huron Rotary do best/what are we known for?
Our club was founded in 1920, it is more than 100 years old. We are known for the
community service we perform and the grants we provide to organizations throughout Port Huron. We also have occasions when we partner and serve with other regional
clubs in Sarnia, Marysville and St. Clair for example.
The Rotary International Day Parade is the largest event Port Huron Rotary hosts
annually. This is the kick off to “Boat Week” each year with over 60 entries. Fundraising for the parade and our grants is typically done on the first Friday in February at the
Three Grand Slam event, which is a reverse raffle hosted by the club. Other service
events we do annually include roadside cleanup, Salvation Army holiday bell ringing
and Memorial Day Veteran flag planting at Lakeside Cemetery.
