Grants Galore!
This past month, Port Huron Rotary supported local nonprofits Hunter Hospitality House (please see @PortHuronRotary Facebook page) and Friends of the St. Clair River with grants from the club's Foundation.
Rotary granted Friends of the St. Clair River $500. The sponsorship helped provide support for free educational Sturgeon Science Cruise field trips aboard the Huron Lady on June 3 for five classes at Crull and Michigamme elementary schools for 140 5th grade students. The sponsorship covered each school's busing and ticket costs. Students learned about and saw in tanks aboard the boat, live invasive sea lamprey and baby lake sturgeon.

Reading about all those grant opportunities instantly took me back to the spring of 2022 when I applied for a small community arts fund.
